The VEB (or Dutch Investors’ Association) has been operating as an independent organisation since 1924. With about 45,000 members, the VEB advocates the interests of investors in their dealings with financial product providers, listed companies, regulatory authorities, as well as representing their interests in the public debate. Besides being the main source of independent information for the Dutch investor, the VEB is widely known for its collective redress (VEB actions) – lawsuits typically brought to obtain compensation for groups of aggrieved shareholders. Over the past years the VEB has reached over EUR 2 billion in compensation for investors in various legal cases.
