Meat London was borne out of two Stoke Newington residents wanting a good local Butchers shop. Marc Wise and Richard Jocelyn invited Paul Grout to bring the butchery and retail skills, and ‘Meat N16’ was opened in the summer of 2011. ‘Meat NW5’ followed in the spring of 2014. It has always been the aim of the Directors to grow the company in a positive and sustainable manner. Our shops aim at being good old fashioned butcher’s shops with a modern feel. Our butchers don’t hide behind serve over counters. We have blocks where our customers can stand and talk about their meat and how they want it prepared, or just stand and listen to another tale from the Butcher. We source top quality, free range meat from British farms and producers and we prepare it just the way our customers want it. Everything that we sell takes into consideration our meat. We never lose sight of the fact that the sign above the door says ‘Butchers’. However, this doesn’t stop us from offering our customers a vast range of delicatessen, ambient grocery, cheeses and wines. Our company ethos is all about top quality, and this extends to our customer service. As the business has grown, so has our customer base and our customers now enjoy, and expect, a warm welcome, first class product knowledge, the highest quality product preparation and a bright and friendly Team to carry it all off.
