Common is a Melbourne based architecture and urban design practice led by John Doyle, Ben Milbourne, Laura Mártires, Evie Blackman and Edmund Carter. We believe in the built environment as a collective, common project. We like buildings that give more than they take, that are generous and participate in the public domain. We believe in the value of ordinary typical buildings. We focus our efforts on contributing to the common commission of the city, mostly in small but sometimes in large ways. We do public and private buildings. We do buildings for visitors and locals. We understand how culture and experience can be translated into meaningful and valuable places. Common was previously known as NAAU.
