For the past 25 years, Educational Tutorial Services (E.T.S.) has provided quality tutoring services in reading, language arts, and mathematics to youth in foster care. Approximately 80% of our business is Foster Care education. Our immigrant tutoring services encompass the rest of our business. Our contracts along with academic remediation are nationwide. Services are available after school, on weekends, and during the summer. Through a combination of customized supplemental materials (aligned to State and district’s content standards), sound teaching methods, and individualized learning goals, we help students measurably improve academic performance. Our areas of expertise are foster care children, at-risk youth (including those in detention and clinical settings and homeless), and disadvantaged students. E.T.S. provides one-on-one and/or small group academic tutoring programs to underachieving children in foster care. Our focus is on helping children in foster care with homework assistance and literacy improvement to address their immediate academic needs. Secondarily, we provide general math and reading assistance using supplemental materials to strengthen areas of weakness caused by learning disruptions. Contracted services range from in-home (foster or group) tutoring to tutoring at public libraries. We work with partner agencies and foster parents to determine the best location and schedule to meet student needs.
