American Bicycling Education Association, Inc.

www.abea.bike

The American Bicycling Education Association (ABEA) is the first organization of its kind. Building on the success of the groundbreaking CyclingSavvy course, ABEA is dedicated to supporting successful bicycling through bicycling-related education for the general public, traffic engineers, transportation planners, law enforcement professionals and educators. We believe that our nation’s transportation culture can and must be changed to ensure that the drivers of bicycles are expected and respected as a normal part of traffic on all of our roads, regardless of the absence or availability of bicycle-specific infrastructure. We know that bicyclist education will always be essential, regardless of the availability of bicycle-specific infrastructure. We are committed to empowering bicyclists to go anywhere they wish to go by bike. We are also dedicated to improving the environment in which American bicyclists operate, through resources and education for transportation professionals, law enforcement and motorists. Our Vision: The drivers of human-powered vehicles are expected and respected as a normal part of traffic. Our Mission: To provide programs and resources for the education of bicyclists as drivers of vehicles, and bicycling-related education for traffic engineers, transportation planners, law enforcement professionals, educators, and the general public. The American Bicycling Education Association was incorporated in 2014 for educational and charitable purposes and is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
