RFS Engineering, also known as Rist-Frost-Shumway Engineering, has roots dating to 1957 and today employs 80 staff across three offices (Laconia, NH, Boston, MA, and Portland, ME). RFS provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, technology, structural, and civil engineering, as well as lighting design, energy analysis, and MEP commissioning. Construction project sites are typically throughout the Northeast US, including for higher education, private secondary education, public k-12 education, healthcare, corporate life science, corporate office, performing arts, hospitality, and municipal projects, as well as central energy plant and energy distribution projects. RFS is well known for its commitments to creative, energy efficient, and sustainable designs, including designs utilizing renewable energy and low-carbon infrastructure.
