Avery's Heroes is a nonprofit organization in Southern California that serves to provide reduced cost or free mental health services to our nation's active military, veterans of all wars, and their families. We have our own private counseling center in sunny Southern California, and a team of five dedicated therapists who specialize in the areas of PTSD, trauma, grief, and loss. The heroes of our nation have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms, now it's our turn to serve them! From psychotherapy to sandplay therapy, EMDR to group support, Avery's Heroes wants to turn veteran mental health statistics upside down. Twenty two veterans commit suicide every single day in America. 30% of Vietnam veterans have developed PTSD at some point in their lives. 20% of veterans from Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom have been diagnosed with PTSD, and only 50% of those veterans will receive the help they need for it.
