Odum School of Ecology

www.ecology.uga.edu

At the University of Georgia Odum School of Ecology, we study the fundamental ecological processes that shape the world; inspire and train future generations; and create science-based solutions to environmental problems. Building on our legacy of innovation, we create change by harnessing diverse tools and perspectives in a collaborative community. Through our research, teaching and public service and outreach, we provide fundamental information that drives informed discussion, debate, and decisions whose impact reaches well beyond the scientific world. Our areas of expertise include aquatic ecology, conservation ecology and sustainability, disease ecology, ecosystem ecology, evolutionary ecology, and movement ecology. We offer graduate and undergraduate degrees in ecology and integrative conservation as well as certificate programs, studies abroad and service-learning courses, with small classes and many opportunities for experiential learning. The world’s first school committed solely to the study of ecology, our roots date back to the 1950s when namesake and founder Eugene P. Odum began his groundbreaking ecosystem ecology research at UGA.
