Our Companions is a Connecticut-based nonprofit animal welfare organization that is committed to always do the right thing for animals. Through our Sanctuary in Ashford, CT and our many innovative programs at our Valerie Friedman Program Center in Manchester, CT we are fast becoming a recognized leader in the field of animal rescue. Situated on 47 acres of land in rural Ashford, Connecticut, our Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in New England, offers a peaceful, home-like, cage-free, environment where animals with special needs are given the time, attention and customized care to recover from past abuse, trauma or neglect while they await their forever home. Located in Manchester, our Valerie Friedman Program Center offers innovative and progressive programs aimed at keeping people and pets together, reducing pet homelessness and suffering in our community. These services include medical and behavioral assistance programs, services for outdoor, community cats, educational programs and partnerships that support municipal animal control shelters.
