Chicago Bungalow Association
www.chicagobungalow.orgA non-profit group dedicated to helping homeowners maintain, preserve and adapt their unique Chicago Bungalow. The Chicago Bungalow Association (CBA) was created in September 2000 by Mayor Richard M. Daley to ensure that the 80,000 one and one-half story homes that have been the foundation of family lives and neighborhoods for over 100 years would continue to do so for the next century. These homes represent nearly one-third of the city’s single-family housing stock. While the bungalows, with their sturdy brick construction and singular craftsmanship have endured the test of time, many homeowners are looking to modernize, repair and adapt their bungalows to fit their needs and lifestyles. Working with the City of Chicago, Aldermen, neighborhood organizations and many non-profit groups, we strive to help bungalow owners make their homes more energy efficient and sustainable. HCBA offers buyers and owners unparalleled opportunities to adapt and maintain these signature Chicago homes by providing educational seminars and workshops, design guidelines, local expos, awards and recognition, energy efficiency and sustainability, plus lots more!
