The mission of the Florence & Laurence Spungen Family Foundation is to improve the quality of life of individuals and families facing health challenges, and to address issues that particularly affect the Jewish community. The foundation’s current strategic priorities are: - Supporting Family Caregivers with education, resources, and respite - Improving community awareness of and access to care for Jewish genetic diseases, with a focus on the BRCA gene - Using the Spungen Holocaust Collection to raise awareness and facilitate discussion of the Holocaust and breakdowns in humanity The foundation’s geographic focus is on the local communities of its board members, as well as nationally and internationally, when appropriate to its mission.
