Le Concours international d'orgue du Canada (CIOC) est un organisme voué à la promotion de la musique d’orgue notamment en éduquant le public pour l’amener à mieux comprendre et apprécier cette musique. À Montréal tous les trois ans, le CIOC présente un concours international où un jury prestigieux représentant plusieurs pays attribue des prix importants parmi une sélection des meilleurs jeunes organistes au monde. Désireux de participer activement à la vie culturelle, le CIOC élabore une programmation annuelle en partenariat avec des organismes du milieu de l’orgue; ces activités musicales et éducatives mettent en valeur les orgues, trésors patrimoniaux, et s’adressent à un large public. The Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC) promotes organ music by increasing public awareness and interest in this music. In Montreal, every three years, the CIOC presents an international competition in which a prestigious jury representing various countries awards important prizes to a selection of the best young organists in the world. Seeking to actively participate in Canada’s cultural life, the CIOC annually develops a programme of activities in collaboration with various organisations of the organ world. These musical and educational activities are designed to emphasize the cultural importance of pipe organs in Canada – treasures of our heritage – for a wide and diverse audience.
