Nowadays public and private institutions are increasingly investing time, effort and considerable resources in huge structural projects, or megaprojects, as a way to add more value to their shareholders and stakeholders. Projects with a magnitude of R$ 1.0 billion are emerging in the growing Brazilian economy. On the one hand, a megaproject is celebrated for generating employment and income, but on the other, it is proven statistically that they cause the most damage and impact, economically, socially or environmentally. Despite all the initial planning, all projects are subject to change along the way. Working with projects, we have verified in theory and in practice that there will always be changes along any initiative, including the scope, time or cost, and that those changes will be caused by several foreseen and unforeseen factors. The members of Simplify Project Management (or SimplifiqueGP) aim to deliver value and benefits to the stakeholders. To do so, we help companies to identify the realities involved in a mega initiative.
