Currently, Barker has six teachers who are accredited at the Highly Accomplished level – arguably the highest number within a school in NSW. All new staff are mentored during their induction period at Barker and the School contributes to the sustaining of the profession by supporting a number of teaching practicum students from universities across the country annually. In 2021 the School was recognised as a Gold Skilled Workplace for our commitment to continuous improvement in mental health training. 36% of Barker's staff are now accredited Mental Health First Aiders.
