People in need from French-speaking West-African countries have used social media platforms to ask for help for tragedies relief for the most part but donors in Africa and abroad are reluctant to donate due to unsafe/unfamiliar donation channels available. In the U.S, when a person is in need of money for any reason from emergencies to celebrations, they turn to GoFundMe. It is the most popular crowdfunding platform, but for people outside of North America and some parts of Europe, they do not exist. The current solution is filled with many holes that lead to fraud and lower results in the funding raised because of skepticism. Our Crowdfunding Platform will be the solution to the problem by providing a safe and customer-driven platform to allow people in French-speaking West-African countries to donate money through a secure and accessible platform like GoFundMe. More specifically, to engage this specific market, we will focus on verification on campaigns to ensure donors are protected from fraud. Following that, we will provide feedback to donors so they can see the result of how their money was used. RaiseMeFunds will allow anyone to donate money to West-Africans in need with the assurance that their money and integrity are protected.
