Due to centuries of systematic oppression, many gifted youths in developing nations lack both awareness and access to necessary, advanced educational resources that will allow them to contribute globally in STEM. UM SET GO seeks to address this disparity by acting as a unique pipeline to connect forward-thinking UM graduate students with eager, talented high-schoolers and undergraduates from the aforementioned geographies. As mentorship, supplies, and research opportunities are exchanged for a cross-cultural experience, UM SET GO intends to streamline the pathway for underrepresented international youth towards obtaining PhDs and MS in STEM fields.
