HSSA provides advice to healthcare organizations and individuals and seeks to promote understanding of the application of complexity science to healthcare initiatives. This includes assessments of the system safety of a particular unit, facility or regional grouping in the healthcare field, as well as consulting services to propose improvements in the field of healthcare system safety. As well, a particular interest in the link between individual and system accountability and the question of patient safety leads to advice and proposals about the current accountability system that is in place in a given organization.
