Cinchéo

Cinchéo, founded by Renaud Pawlak (PhD), conducts R&D activities for sustainable and responsible Software Engineering. It entails mastering software complexity in a rapidly changing software & hardware ecosystem where the cost of Software is growing out of control. Cinchéo helps IT services and Software editors with the following issues: - how to modernize and migrate legacy software; - how to minimize dependencies to librairies; - how to ensure sustainable software design; - how to control the environmental impacts of digitalization. In a world where carbon footprint of IT is as important as the carbon footprint of personal vehicles, and is expected to catch up civil aviation emissions in 4 years, it is our duty to ensure sustainable and responsible software development. Because of Moore's law, the Software Industry has never been focused on optimization problems, but always on providing more features to the users, without thinking of the impacts and always with the assumption that the users frequently upgrade the hardware. We need to invest on the right tooling now and stop developing as if resources are unlimited. Cinchéo is the owner/maintainer of the following solutions: - http://www.jsweet.org: an Open Source transpiler to help modernizing legacy Java applications to the Web environment - https://www.sweethome3d.online: a SaaS to edit plans and visualize in 3D (to embed in any website with white branding) Renaud Pawlak is a specialist in software development and digital services as well as tools and methods to improve software sustainability. He has been helping many companies to create SaaS platforms and uses advanced tools to control software complexity and migrate legacy applications to the Web. He is the (co)author of more that 40 publications in international conferences, of two book on advanced technologies to master complexity in Java development, and has been developing programming languages, frameworks, and compilers.
