Sports for Schools is a social enterprise whose mission is to inspire children to be more active, resilient and lead healthy lives. We do this by organising inspirational visits by Olympic / Paralympic level athletes to primary schools across the UK. To date Sports for Schools has raised over £5m to increase physical activity in primary schools and inspired over 2.4 million children. We visit over 1,000 schools each year, which also means we connect with around 275,000 children each year. We recently launched Clubbly.co.uk, a cloud platform that connects schools to activity providers to run after-school clubs. The platform is free for schools to use, and helps coaches find work and earn more money than if working for mainstream coaching, whilst eliminating all the admin faced by schools in running their clubs (which can take up a lot of time). We’re also developing CPD and other programmes to help schools increase levels of physical activity. The bottom line is that physical activity builds the brain so that teachers can fill the brain.
