Preparedness and Treatment Equity Coalition
www.ptechealth.orgThe Preparedness and Treatment Equity Coalition (PTEC) takes a metric-driven approach to close the gaps in pandemic care and services in underserved communities. Black, Latinx, and Native American communities have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. But we know disparities in care go even further. PTEC will study and identify health system reforms to reduce health disparities, including issues with access to testing and treatment, lower rates of adult vaccinations, and higher rates of conditions such as metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. Through these findings, PTEC will identify policies and practices for pandemic-related care in underserved communities, and advocate to help address the gaps with urgency. By bringing together private businesses, health researchers, health care providers, data analysts, and advocates, PTEC aims to improve social justice in pandemic preparedness and the detection and treatment of underlying conditions that make infections more devastating. This organization has filed a certificate of incorporation in Delaware. It is being established as a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and has requested tax-exempt status from the IRS.
