FDB S.r.l. was founded in 1976 by its two founding partners, both vaunting extensive experience in a leading company now no longer operating but once considered the Italian pioneer in the production of systems and machinery for the food and dairy industries. Their ten years of work at this important company provided them with the skills and experience they needed to start out on their own with confidence and to immediately offer elevated quality standards at a moment of accelerated expansion in the milk and dairy industry. Activity began with the construction of the first centrifugal and self-priming sanitary motor pumps and plate-type heat exchangers that were immediately acclaimed by the market. The company's long collaboration with Alfa Laval also began at this time, as FDB began performing numerous assembly operations for many leading Italian companies on its behalf.
