IMI is the realisation of collective dreams. In 1991, 12 eminent professionals from the maritime fraternity determined to pool together resources, expertise and long broad-based maritime experience to establish an institution in response to the severe manpower shortage facing the shipping industry worldwide. A training school for seagoing cadets was a long felt need in the north of India from where 60-70% of the seafaring manpower hails and IMI was born – a unique training institution geared to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. IMI extends its heartiest congratulations to all the students as well as the entire team of staff and faculty for their hard work and dedication for the stellar performance in the Maersk PI - LI Test and subsequent campus interviews, which were conducted on 2nd and 3rd Dec 2014. IMI also takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to Maersk (World’s Largest and Biggest Shipping Company) and its representatives for visiting the campus to conduct online test and interviews.IMI is delighted to inform that Maersk Line has selected 82 cadets from the interviews conducted.In 2013 Maersk Line had selected 81 cadets after rigorous selection process for onboard training. IMI also expresses its sincere appreciation to MSC Shipping for a fruitful decade long association and support.
