Duties and Responsibilities of MEVKA - Provide technical support to the planning studies of local authorities - Support projects ensuring the implementation of regional plans and programmes and to monitor & evaluate them - Contribute to the improvement of the capacity of the region concerning the rural and local development -Improve cooperation between public sector, private sector and NGOs - Ensure effective & efficient utilization of the resources - Promote business and investment facilities of the region - Follow and coordinate centrally the permission and licence transactions and other administrative transactions of the investors - Support SMEs and new entrepreneurs in cooperation with other related institutions - Promote activities related to bilateral or multilateral international programmes Main Activities of MEVKA - Supporting rural and local development activities - Supporting the preparation of regional strategies and plans - Technical and financial support at project implementation stage - Monitoring and evaluation - Determination and mobilisation of the internal resources of local/regional economies - Promotion of investments - Stimulating entrepreneurship - Research and database formation - Intermediary and coordination roles in the use of national and international funds
