The Young Peoples Trust for the Environment
www.ypte.org.ukYoung People's Trust is a charity, which aims to inspire young people to care for our world. Our website (http://ypte.org.uk) offers a huge range of materials written specifically for young people and teachers, free downloads and regular news updates on current environmental issues. It is supported by Google through the provision of free AdWords. The charity provides free environmental information and education services for schools and young people, both through our website and through direct relationships with schools. For example, 'Roots to Green Living' has YPTE providing long-term support to a total of 15 schools in Somerset and London for the development of environmental education opportunities in their school grounds. http://ypte.org.uk/content/roots-to-green-living We specialise in creating and operating environmental education projects and award schemes on behalf of corporate sponsors. The Better Energy School Awards http://betterenergyschoolawards.org.uk will in 2017 be in their 11th year and have delivered consistently positive results. Some 230,000 young people have taken part in projects for the Awards to date. A new competition is currently being developed with Eurostar for launch later in 2017, the 6th year of our partnership. We are also currently developing the Young People's Green Awards(YPGA), a new sponsorship opportunity for corporate sponsors, which will enable young people to combine their interest in caring for the natural world with their natural talents to create truly amazing and inspiring projects. YPGA will be open to entries from individual young people, submitting done at home/ in their own time, not at school. Winners will receive a special 'Eco Adventure' holiday for themselves and a friend of their choice, organised by the (YPTE), as well as a cash prize! YPGA will launch later this year.
