Ocean and General Maritime Agencies Limited is a wholly owned Irish liner agency that also provides customs consultancy, general forwarding and warehousing services to clients in Ireland. Ocean and General Maritime Agencies Limited have been liner agents in Ireland for the Grimaldi Group since 1988, representing their services throughout European, Mediterranean and Atlantic trading areas. Ocean and General boasts all the competencies required to offer worldwide services for RoRo and LoLo and caters for all types of cargo including Ro-Ro, containers (refrigerated & special equipment) and general cargo. In 1998, the Euromed Service was launched from the Port of Cork, linking Ireland to the UK, Scandinavia, North and South Europe and the Mediterranean directly and via hubs. The launch of this service coincided with the opening of the Ocean and General Cork office in January 1998 and inspired the establishment of a logistics company partnership between Grimaldi and Ocean and General: Euromed Ireland Logistics Ltd. Operating from an 80,000 square metres terminal in Cork, Euromed offers storage and nationwide distribution services to the new car market together with PDI and repair facilities and a fleet of dedicated car-transporters. Ocean and General also offer services from Dublin Port with direct vessels for West Africa or feeders calling to Grimaldi hub in Antwerp port. Ocean and General have recently announced a new freight route, launched by Finnlines, between Rosslare, Ireland and Zeebrugge, Belgium. The service will provide a new direct link between Ireland and Continental Europe and will launch on the 23rd of July. The route will be operated by the ro-ro vessel, Finnpulp, which has the capacity to carry 3,259 lane metres of cargo, equivalent to around 225 trailers. The vessel can also accommodate 12 drivers.
