Student-Athletes Leading Social Change
www.salsc.orgStudent-Athletes Leading Social Change (SALSC) is a non-profit organization that catalyzes and connects current and former college student-athletes who want to change the world. SALSC has built and refurbished schools in Kenya, Ecuador, Chicago, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C. Mission: to catalyze and connect college student-athletes to use their passion and platform to inspire and transform communities through sports, education and leadership. Core Values: Driven by Passion and Purpose - Just as student-athletes are driven by strong passion and purpose in sports and school, SALSC exudes a real energy and enthusiasm for the important causes we promote and serve. We want to channel that drive and inspiration into giving back on a bigger scale. Work Hard and Create Fun - SALSC is known for our work ethic, but also the ability to create the fun in the moment. We set the standards extremely high and we’re persistent on doing great work as a team. We know the athlete mentality doesn’t stop in the sport, but rather it is a reflection of life. Pieces of the Puzzle - Every student-athlete that participates in SALSC and every organization we work with adds a piece to our social change puzzle. We’re constantly looking for selfless people who are courageous enough to take initiative for lasting change. Sustainable Projects and Relationships - SALSC mission is more than a day-long, week long, or year long project. We’re invested in building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with student-athletes, donors, and the communities we serve. Take off the Mask of the Student-Athlete - SALSC provides a platform to expand the personal, professional and leadership skills of student-athletes thereby expanding their view of their role as well as how others see them. We have compassion and we use it. We are more than student-athletes; we are leaders, philanthropist and people with really big hearts.
