British Urethane Foam Contractors Association
www.bufca.co.ukThe British Urethane Foam Contractors Association (BUFCA) is the national trade association in the UK and a central resource for the application of sprayed and injected polyurethane foam systems. The association comprises sprayed and injected polyurethane foam installers together with suppliers of sprayed and injected polyurethane systems and equipment. The insulation value of polyurethane foam is amongst the best available as the foam seals all gaps and moulds itself to all contours. It has the ability to provide significant structural strength and it creates its own vapour control layer – essential in today’s highly insulated buildings. BUFCA aims to ensure that its network of professional installers are skilled in the installation of polyurethane foam to uphold the highest standards of quality and service. BUFCA promotes the numerous benefits and applications of polyurethane foam. This can be used for insulation and stabilisation or strengthening of the building structure; to save energy and carbon; for draught proofing; sound proofing; condensation control; and to prevent air leakage. The application of closed cell polyurethane foams for building insulation has been around for over 40 years. Polyurethane foam is used in a variety of sectors including commercial, new build, retrofit, domestic, ‘hard-to-treat’ or difficult to treat properties, agricultural, industrial, and marine applications. NB: Installations subject to survey. A closed cell sprayed, or injected polyurethane foam material provides one of the highest insulation values commercially available. It also helps to achieve excellent structural stability for a building, adhering to the building substrate and setting quickly to form a rigid layer. Installers are required to abide by the Association’s Code of Professional Practice which aims to further good technical and professional conduct and promotes sound relationships between members and their customers.
