Mary offers a fresh, truly holistic perspective to parenting support. She currently holds a Bachelor's degree focused on Human Development and Interpersonal Communication, certifications in breastfeeding and lactation counseling (CBC and CLC) and is a trained birth and postpartum doula. Additionally, Mary has spent time shadowing world renowned pediatrician and IBCLC Dr. Jack Newman, and a lengthy professional background planning and managing family-centered services to assist those with a variety of specific needs. Mary has been helping parents one-on-one since the inception of Breast Friends of WNY in 2011 (Now Holistic Parenting Network, LLC). She has received her certification in Lactation Counseling (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice in 2017, her Breastfeeding Counseling accreditation from Breastfeeding USA (2016). Her doula training includes both the Life Cycles Birth Doula Training (2015) as well as Postpartum doula training with ProDoula (2016). In 2015, Mary co-founded Village- a holistic family center offering doula services, family workshops and events, massage, yoga, and more. HPN's goal is to empower and educate as many parents as possible to ensure they can have the birthing, breastfeeding, and parenting experiences they are hoping for! With the Holistic Parenting Network, Mary can link and refer parents served for a wide variety of services including OB/Midwife care, primary care physicians and doulas, as well as local parent-owned business services (including massage, acupuncture, children's fitness, etc.). Support is truly for the WHOLE parent.
