The Toowong Rowing Club is a non-profit organisation that aims to be the premier rowing club in Queensland. TRC has an active membership of over 250 members consisting of Juniors, Youth, High Performance and Masters who are either competitive or recreational/ social members. TRC has excellent club facilities and equipment, including a fully equipped rowing-specific gymnasium. The club was first established in 1889, initially at the corner of Park Road and Coronation Drive, at Toowong. TRC had its original shed washed away from this venue on two occasions, such that it decided to relocate and erect a new shed, just upstream from the Regatta Hotel. Once again, the shed was washed away – this time in the devastating 1974 floods. In 1976, the club moved to 37 Keith Street, at St Lucia – where it remains to this day.
