My Blue Dots

www.mybluedots.org

My Blue Dots is a non-profit organization that fuses art and science to pay tribute to cancer warriors and support cancer research. The organization supports cancer research and cancer care programs at Stanford University Medical Center and various locations throughout the U.S. In 2003 an endowment fund was established for Dr. Albert Koong for his work in cancer research at the Stanford University Medical School. Dr. Koong is also the Associate Chair and Director of Clinical Operations in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. My Blue Dots also funded Dr. Ferenc Scheeren's work in the field of stem cell research in 2010. Most recently, My Blue Dots donated the Tre Stella di Lapislazzuli, a 32-and-a-half-foot Dale Chihuly glass chandelier (photos: http://conta.cc/K3Wo5D & video: http://bit.ly/NzRvqF), to the Lorry I. Lokey Stem Cell research building at Stanford Medical Center. My Blue Dots offers one-of-a-kind glass ornaments to honor those who wear the blue dots (tattoos that direct a cancer patient's radiation) and to symbolize a world free of cancer. By combining the world of art with science, My Blue Dots aims to inspire creative thought in all disciplines and to bring healing, hope and help to those going through their challenging cancer experience.
