SHINE SA is a leading sexual health agency in South Australia. SHINE SA provides professional education programs for: teachers, to assist them to deliver sexual health and relationships curriculum; doctors, nurses and midwives to provide sexual and reproductive health theory and clinical training; people working with communities in greatest need: - young people - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities - gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, and queer people - people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds - people with disabilities - young people living in regional, rural and remote areas. SHINE SA also has a Library and Resource Centre with a specialised collection of books, journals and teaching aids such as games and models relating to sexual and reproductive health. It is free to join the library and borrow publications. SHINE SA provides other services directly to communities in greatest need to which you can refer your clients. These services include: • clinical services including sexually transmitted infection (STI) and blood-borne virus (BBV) testing, contraception provision, pregnancy testing • therapeutic counselling services for issues such as sexual difficulties, sexual or gender identity issues, pregnancy options, living with an STI or BBV, sexual assault and sexual abuse • Sexual Healthline for telephone advice on sexual health • prevention, promotion and education programs and events. SHine SA is an incorporated not-for-profit association that receives funding from SA Health. We work in partnership with government, health, education and community agencies and with communities to improve the sexual health and wellbeing of South Australians.
