Z Group Architects was founded as a direct outgrowth of Caudill Gustafson and Associates, Architects. Samuel J. Caudill FAIA, the founder of the firm, has been honored by the American Institute of Architects for his lifetime of architectural achievement. Currently led by James A. Gustafson NCARB, and Seth Hmielowski AIA, we maintain an energetic staff, an open environment, and a collaborative spirit. The firm’s experience spans a wide variety of project types throughout Colorado and internationally, including projects in Moscow and Japan. With many of our projects in the Public Realm and involving public funding, we pride ourselves in being “Practical” Architects: our clients generally own and operate the facilities we design for many decades, so it is critical that the buildings are cost-effective, efficient, durable, functional, and attractive. Our process and team structure allow for close collaboration with each client through the various phases of design. In order to deliver successful projects, our listening and communication skills allow us to develop and deliver distinctive solutions that respond to the unique circumstances and needs of each project.
