The Lewis family’s involvement in the insurance industry spans more than 100 years and can be traced back to the late 1800’s. Michael Lewis, the non-executive Chairman of ICE, has 60 years’ experience in the Insurance Industry. Michael has been instrumental in the founding of many organisations, some of which are as well-known as Investec and IGI Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Lesotho. In 1996 Andrew Lewis formed Baronscourt Holdings (renamed ICE Insurance Holdings) and was joined in 2001 by Robert Lewis when they merged their interests into a single entity. The brothers have continued the family legacy in the insurance industry and they have a unique understanding of the African market and will continue to put that knowledge to work for the benefit of policy holders and the countries ICE Insurance is investing in. ICE Insurance has offices in the UK, Mozambique and South Africa with operations being formed in Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea.
