In 1922, the 5th Earl discovered Tutankhamun's tomb with Howard Carter. More recently, it has been used as a filming location for the British comedy series Jeeves and Wooster and the award-winning period drama Downton Abbey. The Castle provides a location for private, public and charity events throughout the year.
