The University Gateway Corporation (UGC) is a non-profit, volunteer-led business entity established in 1997 by the University of Minnesota Foundation and University of Minnesota Alumni Association. As a proud ambassador for the University, UGC develops and manages large-scale projects that pay tribute to the remarkable heritage and accomplishments of the University of Minnesota as well as enhancing its beautiful Minneapolis campus. These projects include the McNamara Alumni Center, Scholars Walk, Alumni Wall of Honor, Regents Plaza, and the Heritage Gallery among others. The 16 employees of the University Gateway Corporation manage and operate the McNamara Alumni Center, a 231,000 sq ft office building for more than 900 University employees (including the two owner organizations); a 40,000 sq ft conference center that hosts both University and non-University events; and various campus recognition and enhancement projects located throughout the campus.
