RiseUp is a platform that connects startups to the most relevant resources, worldwide. Working relentlessly from the heart of Downtown Cairo, RiseUp creates environments that encourage startup ecosystem stakeholders to exchange the 7 resources any startup needs to grow: Know-how, Talent, Funding, Marketplace, Media, Toolbox and Inspiration. RiseUp does this through our range of digital and event products, the most prominent of which is RiseUp Summit, MENA's largest entrepreneurship event. RiseUp Summit ’17 saw a gathering of 5000+ attendees from 41 countries who spent 3 days participating in sessions, workshops, talks, and chats by 260 international speakers. More than 250 startups participated as exhibitors or at the pitch events, aiming to impress 190+ investors. As a grassroots event, we pooled the resources of 90 partners to help build the Summit. Attendees were treated to sessions by some global powerhouses such as Arif Naqvi (Founder & Group Chief Executive at The Abraaj Group), Amiir Basoum (Founder & CEO, Vezeeta), Chris Neumann (Venture Partner at 500 Startups) and Naguib Sawiris (CEO, Orascom). To spread the electric energy around Cairo, we organized 16 Satellite Events running pre, during, and post Summit, to engage a wider audience! RiseUp Connect is our exciting new digital platform that takes the Summit experience online, all day everyday. With features such as startup profiles, matchmaking, speed mentoring, #askriseup, startup marketplace, and Perks, RiseUp Connect is a one-stop shop for access to the MENA startup ecosystem.
