CSSS | Container Shipping Supporting Seafarers
www.containershippingsupportingseafarers.orgContainer Shipping Supporting Seafarers, founded by Philip Eastell, is a 100% volunteer group of individuals working in the maritime and container sectors. Our goal is to raise global awareness of the problems, issues and consequences affecting seafarers' wellbeing and welfare and to facilitate practical projects that improve seafarer health and happiness. Our focus is not limited by any means to container operations and we do not favour any religious, political, ethnic or cultural groups, handle any financial transactions or act for personal financial gain. Rather, we aim to harness our respective networks to deliver concrete projects that support the work of the many organisations engaged with seafarer welfare. Areas where we aim to provide support and awareness include Onboard Communications, Isolation and Loneliness, Mental illness, Slavery and Human Trafficking, Bullying and Racist Attacks, Ship Abandonment and Piracy. We engage with potential donors in the wider container shipping community to help facilitate funding - monetary, material and in-kind, for specific maritime charity projects.
