Social Security Fund, as one of the main insurance funds of the country and one of the largest institutions of west Asia, in order to provide the Iranian work force and their families with a secure future, demanded a detailed economic planning as well as high efficiency investments to preserve property value of the insured, and to obtain necessary resources for its long term and short term commitments’ fulfillment. The International Social Security Association (ISSA) in its directional frameworks for social security funds’ stability has focused on investment for all the funds as a vital action, so that they preserve their property and resources value through passage of time. Therefore, the Social Security Investment Company (SSIC), an organization specialized in investment was established in 5th of April 1986, as a private joint stock company. SSIC’s main objective was financial resources’ efficient management with the approach of profitability and maximized value added in domestic as well as foreign capital markets through production, services and commercial activities. Today, after 30 years of continuous activity SSIC has turned into one of the major economic companies of the Middle East and with the compilation of perspective and horizon and strategic planning, it is going to become a first class enterprise. The activity field of SSIC is investment and participation in economic and commercial activities including production, commerce, services (financial, management, etc.), and establishment of various companies to meet their objectives. Hence, for a more specialized management of its activities in various fields of business, SSIC has established 9 specialized subsidiary companies in different domains. One of these companies is a holding specialized in energy and water fields which shall be introduced later.
