Supporting Mental Health in Our Community Alternative Residences Alternatives Inc. was first incorporated under the New Brunswick Companies Act in August of 1984 and today acts as the largest charitable organization in Greater Moncton that provides shelter, support services and amenities for those individuals dealing with mental illness. The very existence of the organization is the result of numerous hours of volunteer work by dedicated Mental Health professionals and concerned citizens who voiced the need for an alternative to the institutional options available to the mentally ill. Today, we carry on that mission to better the lives of those individuals dealing with mental illness in our community. We are a registered, not for profit charity. We partner with the two Regional Health Authorities, Social Development, as well as other community agencies such as CMHA.
