If you are injured on the job, or suffer a disease because of your work exposure over time, you may be required to file a workers’ compensation claim with your employer. The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Act, codified in Chapter 656 of the Oregon Revised Statutes, provides a system of benefits for injured workers. These benefits may include medical services, time loss (i.e., wage loss), permanent partial or permanent total disability, and vocational retraining. In many cases, claims are accepted and benefits processed. However, in also many instances, workers face difficulties or have their claims denied.
