China's Prices Project is an academic research program incorporating both online platform and big data technology to conduct relevant research in the domain of economics. Comprised of undergraduates, it serves as both a group of data-science and a team for scientific research. This project was founded and led by Guo Zhang from The Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE) in Xiamen University. The advisors of the project (also from WISE) are Prof. Jiaming Mao and Prof. Wanlei Zhao. CPP’s team member covers most of the majors in XMU, and is currently expanding nationwide, even across. Our research centers on computing high-frequency price data online and the industrial organizations of internet platforms, ranging from the domain of economics to social science and business studies. Our work also involves the research on data science. A series of data-related tasks(data collecting, cleaning, analyzing, visualization etc. ) are handled with Python codes. We have been(and will be) accumulating cross-disciplinary information in the field of economics, management, statistics, data science, computer science and software technology, and at the same time learning to cooperate, to properly manage a research project and to publicize the work through trials and errors.
