Amon Focus, hails from Queens, New York, he is the founder and Creative Director of New York Said: a global documentary initiative with the simple mission to capture and preserve social commentary hidden in plain sight around the world. The notion of the ubiquitous and ephemeral are married in the New York Said photo series. With New York Said: Volume Three slated for publication late Spring 2017, Amon is focused on capturing the complex human narrative through words. He weaves the humorous, profane, and thought-provoking, by allowing the viewer to interact with the words through experience and contemplation. Emergent in Amon’s photography are the often overlooked details that delight the viewer’s senses and demand that you pay attention to the streets. The conversation is ever-changing and complex, nuanced and fearless. In an effort to build further connection, Amon created the New York Said Podcast, a fusion of cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, ideas, and stories under the premise that everyone has something to share. The podcast takes the listener into the lives of the sometimes famous and the sometimes unknown New Yorker.
