Dedicated to publishing the best in American poetry by new and established authors, Wave Books was founded in 2005, joining forces with already-established publisher Verse Press. Wave Books seeks to build on and expand the mission of Verse Press by publishing strong innovative work and encouraging our authors to expand and interact with their readership through nationwide readings and events, affirming our belief that the audience for poetry is larger and more diverse than commonly thought. Our titles have received critical acclaim in publications such as The Believer, Bookforum, Booklist, Boston Review, Details, Harper's, Jacket (Australia), Kirkus Reviews, Library Journal, The New York Times Book Review, The New Yorker, Publishers Weekly, Rolling Stone, The Village Voice and others. Our authors have received NEA and Guggenheim fellowships, the William Carlos Williams Award, the National Book Award, the Pulitzer Prize, the Kate Tufts Discovery Award, inclusion in the Best American Poetry series, and awards from the Academy of American Poets, the Massachusetts Center for the Book, The American Poetry Review, among many others.
