We are an organization vested in empowering those we serve to seek fulfillment and develop a sense of individual accomplishment. We take a holistic approach to the advancement of the individual. In addition to having emphasis on providing supportive housing, we provide additional supports to meet the basic needs of the individual. We are instructors leading others on a path to self-sufficiency. We are a community of educated self motivators, often having risen from our own low points and looking to use our driven nature and aptitude for giving back to provide knowledge and direction to our fellow man. There are hundreds of programs available through alternative organizations looking to help homeless individuals. However, An Extended Hand, Inc.’s unique outreach approach emphasizes our connection to the community. We maintain a healthy relationship with the individuals in need by continuously providing opportunities to make our presence known and services accessible when resources are low. Our purpose is to combat homelessness by performing four fundamental functions. -Collaborative growth program as an entry point developing, and guiding at risk youth as a preventative measure to homelessness funneling into our other programs. -Financial Literacy training to monitor financial plans and behaviors. -Employment Readiness training to help identify and build on interest and skills in the work force. -Health and Wellness by incorporating lifestyle changes, life saving techniques and strategies to improve mental and physical health.
