The Educate Group
www.theeducategroup.comIn Higher Education students look to staff as people who can provide guidance and help for academic concerns, but it is essential that staff feel comfortable and equipped with the right resources to assist students in more sensitive matters of inclusivity and discrimination. Inclusivity is a fundamental part of any institution or professional setting, but how can we make sure we are getting the most value out of our Equality, Diversity & Inclusivity efforts? Beginning to have discussions about increasing inclusivity in HE is a progressive starting point, but we take things further by guiding everyone towards evidence-based and research-informed actions that can most impact the EDI objectives that matter. Our team offers two main services to help increase student continuation and improve student success: 1. Student Success Coaching Programme Our coaching programme consists of direct contact with students that fall into the categories most affected by racial disparities, meaning we can provide additional academic support as well as a safe space for students to communicate their concerns. Our strategy consists of embedding short and long term goals into our programme that will overall increase continuation and satisfaction. • Up to 28% increase in continuation in students at-risk of non continuation • 5% to 7% increase in grade average (2 years after engaging with programme) 2.Race Equity in Action (HE) Programme We offer a tailored training programme for staff through talks, workshops and webinars; in which we guide you through the steps that can be taken to create meaningful action to reduce racialised disparities. • 98% of teams showed an increase in confidence to address racialised issues in their practice (Both in the curriculum and professional services) • 100% satisfaction of the session’s knowledge on ‘race’ its impact on HE outcomes Please feel free to click on our website to learn more about our services, and how to best contact us.
