Doctors of Optometry James Thompson and Jan Lebenhagen began their professional practices together in December 2001 by offering friendly optometric services and a unique optical boutique shopping experience in the Marda Loop district of Calgary. By 2006, they had expanded to include offices in trendy Kensington and at the London Town Square shopping centre in Calgary's Northeast. Throughout their years together, the doctors have promoted an inclusive, attentive practice philosophy along with unique, personally tailored optical products. Eyeclectic® Eyewear, a Calgary-based Canadian brand established in 1994 by Mr. John Holmes, R.O., was acquired by the doctors in December 2008. Eyeclectic offers a one-of-a-kind mix and variety of spectacle frame collections and impeccable service, enjoying a stellar reputation of integrity and uniqueness since its inception. Eyeclectic Eyewear's reputation and style were perfectly suited to the doctors' practice interests and philosophy. The doctors' existing locations were re-branded in 2009, increasing the number of Eyeclectic locations from two to five. An artistic, engaging, and "fashion without pretense" theme has successfully carried the Eyeclectic brand over these many years. Expansion, the addition of consistent and reliable optometric services at all locations, and a continued resolve to maintain its values and identity has helped to position Eyeclectic Eyewear as a leader in our local optical/optometry industry.
