Homes For Bugs
www.homesforbugs.co.ukBuilding a happier, healthier, more connected world...one bug house at a time. Homes for Bugs was born in April 2017 because we believe that there is too much waste in the world... waste that can be rescued and re-purposed to give the wildlife in our gardens and neighbourhoods much needed homes to rest, nest and shelter in. We love rescuing old wood and working with individuals and groups to help them understand the importance of looking after the environment whilst encouraging people to think about improving the biodiversity in their gardens and neighbourhoods. As well as building insect homes, we use our years of experience in various professions including communications, marketing and teaching to run educational workshops, and affordable interactive team building and wellbeing events for a whole range of people. With the correct funding, we'd also love to offer the opportunity for everyone to get involved in building their very own wildlife villages - including bug, bird and hedgehog houses. By helping communities come together, we believe this project will help reduce social isolation, break down barriers between young and old, and give people living with anxiety and depression a real purpose to get involved in something meaningful that's happening on their doorstep. As our slogan says, we really do believe in ‘Building a happier, healthier, more connected world…one bug house at a time,’ and hopefully we can work together to achieve our aim. *Source - The Waste Resources Action Programme
