Project WOMN Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation that was established in 2020 by three friends – Amanda Yong, Ning Lai and Jewel Tan in Perth, Western Australia. A surge of domestic violence reports in Western Australia during the initial nationwide Covid-19 lockdown was the primary catalyst for the Project WOMN initiative. Parallel to the trio’s desire to help those within the community affected by hardship, a shared love of fine food and wine, and a genuine appreciation of the many local producers and wineries that WA has to offer, has helped propel Project WOMN’s events to local acclaim in a relatively short space of time. The team hopes to collaborate with other local chefs, entrepreneurs, and entertainers, and expand its initiative around the state in order to continue to raise funds and awareness for important charitable work.
