Blue Cord Farms, LLC
www.bluecordfarms.comRobert Head and Mat Ladroga served together in Iraq in 2003-2004. Both soldiers were assigned to Alpha Company 1-6 Infantry out of Baumholder Germany. There they forged a friendship that would grow into opportunity. Mat has several years’ experience of growing and cultivating, and a license to grow in Maine as a caregiver. In 2016, after racking up a list of pills the VA had been giving to Robert, he began to supplement cannabis for the pills and it made a dramatic difference in his life. Robert had a friend who he served with in the Army who had died from an accidental overdose of pills. Some of those pills were the same pills Robert had been prescribed by his VA doctor. It was the medical cannabis that kept Robert off the pills and out of the grave. Mat and Robert came up with the idea of Blue Cord Farms. Originally, it was to be in Texas. However, with all cannabis legislation dying before they adjourned, Robert and Mat turned their heads to Maine where Mat was already growing. They developed a small caregiver farm called "Pleasant Mountain Organics". Mat stayed in Maine and took over the farm while Robert set his eyes on Texas legalization and hemp decortication.
