The company behind Chocomelher: the leading chocolate coating to cover frozen fruits, primarily frozen bananas to make chocobananos. In January 1983 Melher was born in El Salvador when the 3 Melgar brothers decided to formalize their initiative to make a chocolate coating for chocobananos. This is how Chocomelher was born, the delicious and incomparable chocolate coating created not only to coat frozen bananas but also to coat and fill with flavor any other frozen fruit. The Chocobananos are considered one of the most nutritious and economic treats for children and adults and their key ingredient is Chocomelher, this is the main reason why the brand soon won over the Salvadorean informal entrepreneur; who little by little grew the commercialization of chocobananos coated with Chocomelher, until turning the brand into the leader one. Taking advantage of the strength and prestige of its Chocomelher brand, Chocolates Melher managed to expand its production and marketing lines by developing other brands that have proved to be equally successful. The best case to point out is its line of confectionery candies coated with chocolates under the brand Chocovitos. With this brand Melher managed to cross the borders of the region and export to countries such as Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Kuwait, and Israel, among others. The exporting trajectory that the company started from its beginnings is, 35 years later, one of its greatest strengths for all its production lines that now include the line of chocolate and other flavored power desserts and drinks and its most recently inaugurated biscuit plant, where the company already makes mini cookies and alfajores coated with its delicious chocolate.
